After graduating from Southampton University with a Psychology degree in 2000, Nicky spent the next 9 years working for a successful independent Industrial and Driving agency. Starting her career as a recruitment agency Southampton consultant, Nicky quickly progressed to Branch manager and finally to Area Manager.
Nicky made the decision to open her own recruitment agency in 2009 after recognising a gap in the market for a niche specialist in Engineering and Technical consultancy.
Over the past 15 years Nicky has worked hard to establish a fantastic reputation as a leading Engineering, Technical and Professional talent acquisition company.
Nicky is an accomplished recruitment specialist with deep expertise in three distinct sectors – Energy, Sustainability, and Logistics. These industries are both unique and interconnected, demanding specialist knowledge and specific skills from potential job candidates. Nicky excels at identifying the right individuals for a range of positions within these sectors.
Key roles she often recruits for include project engineers, health and safety personnel, pipefitters, riggers, cost engineers, surveyors, and estimators. Each role is crucial in its own way. Project engineers lead the charge in managing and executing projects, while health and safety personnel ensure compliance with occupational safety standards. Pipefitters and riggers are instrumental in the assembly and maintenance of complex infrastructure, key in the energy and logistics sectors. Meanwhile, cost engineers bring financial acumen, focusing on managing and reducing project expenses. Finally, surveyors and estimators perform the essential tasks of site assessment, cost estimation, and project planning.

In 2018 Nicky qualified as a Business Psychologist following successful completion of a Masters degree in Occupational Psychology at Leicester University. This has enabled Red Chilli Recruitment to work in partnership with its sister company PsychoRecruit Ltd, to offer additional valuable services to clients and candidates including psychometric testing, customised assessment design, talent attraction and retention strategies.
Nicky holds Fellowship in Recruitment Practice certification (FIRP) and is qualified in Psychometric Testing and is on the British Psychological Society (BPS) Register of Qualified Test Users (RQTU). Nicky is also a member of the BPS and Association of Business Psychologists (MABP)
